Discussion: What weight loss techniques have worked for you?

What weight loss techniques have you tried and have been successful It would be great if we could share tips because everyone seems to be interested in this and we can help each other out:)

Coming to me, i have really tried losing weight, but i wanted to drop a dress size but was never successful. I guess my hips are a little broad and refused to come down.

1)Has anything worked for reducing the hip size to drop a dress size?

2)One thing that surely worked for me for reducing tummy fat is having an early dinner say 4-5 hours before going to bed. And i dont eat rice/pasta in the night. Mostly rotis.

3) the workout that i totally love is Yoga but hard to lose weight using it, but definetely helped me become more flexible and calm.

Tell me your tips. would love to hear them

Eat plant based diet...no meat, no dairy products, no sugar and no oil. Try different Workout routines 5 times a week....atleast 55 mins. Get food weighing scale, it helps for portion control. Get normal body scale, which gives fat content. It did wonders to me and my husband.

eat as much as u can but not sweets or rice, white bread etc. do zombie and situps,running and little bit of yoga :) im a model in Norway so thats what i do to keep my figure fit :)

I have both shilpa yoga cd and bips aerobics yoga break my bones dance on rythem quite easy.

small meals.. and more number of meals thrughout the day. exercise and there u r after a couple of consistent months!

Eat on smaller plates. Don't eat a lot of sweets and junk food. Workout for 1 hour 4 times a week.

I always had heavy hips while i was in college. I would hate wearing jeans, and i wore them only with hip-length kurtis. Then, i started a walking regimen, brisk 45-min walk everyday. I lost weight over my hips so much that now I am skinny on the hips, but have a big tummy problem!!!
And it seems losing weight on tummy is more difficult than losing weight over hips.

First of all I just want to say that very few diets have worked for me. I am overweight and I tried everything, I even started smoking (not an option). The best thing I tried was a HCG diet Seattle, it wasn't the easiest one thought. In losing weight there are no miracle methods, there's just effort and result.

Eat heavy breakfast, light lunch and early dinner before 7 if possible. Try avoiding carbohydrates and fats for dinner, instead go for soup with meat and vegetables. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Avoid sodas, chips, artificial fruit juices and instead substitute with green tea, peanuts, almonds, carrots and more beneficial snacks. However, i would also tell you to take a walk as much as possible. This is basically what i do and i am doing great both health wise and my weight as well.

and also bips dvd is waaaayyyy better! so is her body!

excercise worked alot in my case .i tried to do dieting but when i started walking it helped me to lose weight .

Try the Southbeach diet. My doctor told me to do it and I lost 35 pounds in 2 months.
I ate around 2200 calories a day with about 50-80 grams of carbohydrates. Also I wasn't hungry due to the low carbs. Carbs really make you hungry.

i lost 10 pounds without dieting but i did workout but nothing severe just the treadmill and a few classes etc offered at my gym. But I have to tell you that the way to be your ideal weight is to just eat right and eat smaller portions. I also stopped buying snack foods..the only thing that i snack on is fruit or low fat cheese.

1 hr brisk walk daily will reduce your weight drastically...personal experience..u can see the difference in 2 weeks.. i do it in the evening. Also reduce junk stuff..

i do not recommend the lemon and water it will drastically decrease your iron!
Eat healthy!! eating large portions of salad and soups is fine but large portions of roti not so much. if you must eat roti (i don't blame you) i'm a desi born in canada and i still can't do without it. Eat one and eat it with daal :) and a side salad :)
REMEMBER to exercise :) i'm a uni student so i know it's hard to do it that often. 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes eliptical or treadmill (or both) should be more then enough

i dropped 20 pounds without any dieting. i eat almost everything but balance it with fresh fruits n veggies. i drink 9 glasses of water. and do cardio 3 times a day(10 minutes everytime), finish off my dinner at 7 30 pm. it really helped me. i did it in a healthy way. it demands patience, but its worth it.....so take it easy

Bipasha is shockingly pretty.. yes.
she has a beautiful face to start with and that makes up 99% of her beauty. her fab figure is just 1% icing on the cake. Bips would be pretty as a Sophia Loren voluptous beauty too..

When I was pregnant.. I gained 65-70 pounds. NOT KIDDING! It really depends on what kind of delivery you have.. If your sister has a regular delivery she can start as soon as 1 week later or 2 weeks later.. IF she has a regular delivery with cutting or even a c-section.. she might want to wait 4-6 weeks. See I screwed up.. I got really active after 1 week and after having a c-section. My stitches ripped open from one side.. and I ended up waiting months before trying to exercise. Remember also her feeding the baby helps burn calories.. so try to self feed rather than bottle feed. That probably helped burn the weight off for the first few months for me. It took me 2 years to go from a size 12 to a 4 without having to really exercise. If she wants to lose the weight fast.. tell her to keep an active pregnancy so she has a easy delivery. Also use cocoa butter and moisturizing oils to make sure the stretch marks go away too.. if she has any. Hope this helps! :)
