EXCLUSIVE: Taapsee Pannu - My character in Judwaa 2 is not on the lines of either Karisma or Rambha
Taapsee Pannu in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla speaks about her role in Judwaa 2, working with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez
Taapsee Pannu, who is all set to enthrall us all as fierce and complex Shabana in Neeraj Pandey's Naam Shabana, will next begin shooting for David Dhawan Judwaa 2, which is a sequel to 1997 Salman Khan starrer Judwaa.
Taapsee, who has so far been seen in strong and bold roles, is all set to enter a new world of comedy! So when does she begin shooting for Judwaa 2? Well, speaking to us Taapsee said that she is going to begin shooting for the movie a week later after Naam Shabana releases. She also added that in that one week window, she will go for a nice detox holiday.
As we delved further into the interview, we asked Taapsee if she has seen the original movie, to which she replied, "Of course."
Wondering whose role Taapsee would be reprising in the sequel- Karisma Kapoor or Rambha? Well, we have an answer, NONE!
Revealing that the makers have revamped the girl's character in the movie, Taapsee said, "They have revamped the girl’s character [in the film]. My character is not on the lines of either Karisma or Rambha. I play a college girl who studies with Varuna Dhawan. I am an Indian girl born and brought up in London."
We further quizzed her if she is nervous about sharing the screen space with much-established stars like Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Salman Khan, she said, "The only fear I have is I need to look that ribbed and toned as Jacqueline and Varun."
We also asked her if she has finally met Salman Khan (who she is a huge fan of), to which she said, "No, I haven't. Hopefully, soon I will be meeting him."
Directed by David Dhawan, Judwaa 2 features Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. Superstar Salman Khan will do a cameo in the movie. The movie is slated to release later this year.
