Yes, lovely innocent look & nice eyes and lovely clear complexion.. but very common simple features found in nearly every college student.. if one views 'ordinary' desi ppl, the features are truly exquisite.

Desi women are famed for their exquisite oval high cheekbone faces (think Paveeen Babi;; Zeenat Aman)-- and long dark lush hair (think Rekha, Neelam)-- she has neither of those based on this photo. she's lovely though with very nice eyes.. but not the 'ultimate of India' in many ppl's view.

However, she is the #1 star of India, and that is a big accomplishment.

very lovely. But most 'common' gals in India have higher-cheekbones and a more oval face than her-- fact is, prettier than the photo above. In terms of facial structure (back then), her rating would be below average. Dont' underestimate how lovely a "common" desi woman is !!

yes, glowing with nice eyes- but that's about it.

then she really transformed herself post 2000.. and went onto become a beauty icon sensation. she looks very sophisticated and different starting from that point on. kudos to her stylist and makeup artist-- they really up-played her pretty green eyes- which changed her entire face from what it was.

The best part about Aishwarya..and this is something we must appreciate is that she made the best of what God gave her..she worked on her fitness, her diction, her acting..all that she could do.She could easily have become confused and vain when she became Miss World or when she became the top most actress of the industry...but she kept her head on her shoulders. That is indeed a rare quality.

ya i do think she looks better than the average women in india (in general). she has a wonderful combination of beautiful assets including height and complexion in asnwer to the person below.

She definitely had cheek implants, like cameron diaz they look totally different after that in a good way I mean.

if she's beautiful- and yes,she is very-- then so are 85% of Indian women out there.
Her features are about the same as any of them-- and though she has the 'famous green eyes & glowing complexion-- if beauty is structure-- then, yes, she is no more or less of a beauty than the rest of them.

she's very very cute in this photo.. but is she any cuter than any of the gals walking down the street in beautiful India? the only difference is perhaps she is fairer than 80% of the gals there;; and perhaps a bit taller & fit-- but is the facial features anything different and unique from the other gals? her facial features always seemed simpler garden variety (not that garden variety is not pretty -- it is!).

Let me preface my comment by stating that I currently am and have always been a fan of aish's beauty since her first appearance on the cover of gladrags wearing green sometime in the 90s. Having said that I believe that this pic was taken likely after her miss world title but, that it also predates what I believe are cheek implants and an eyebrow lift. I think the cheek implants gave her a western appeal and the eyebrow lift looks a little off. She is still beautiful no doubt but, to me she looked her best with the features in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The only other work she has had are porcelain veneers and no I do not think there is anything wrong with limited work on oneself unless you go the michael jackson or koena mitra route. to each his own. I think it should not be done on people with body image disturbances and should have limits on what is done. for some it becomes an obsession and the end product is least attractive.

So can I say ---------------------A Nose JOB???

she had more like a perm thing going on when she was a teen....i reckon this is from aur pyar promo pics n stuff...her eyebrows in her teen years were bushier rather than v. thin...look it up

No this can be a college pic because she had a small forehead in her early years Watch some past vidios You can see the differance Anyway, she looks fab.She is the most beatiful women I have ever seen in this earth She has done so much good KARMA in her previous lives.. Good on her.I think with attitude, noone can survive in this film industry without it
