A Mumbai magistrate Tuesday sent Bollywood actor Vindu Dara Singh, who was arrested earlier Tuesday for suspected links in the spot-fixing scam in the ongoing IPL tournament, to police custody till May 24. Police sought his custodial interrogation after Ramesh Vyas, one of the bookies arrested in the scam and currently in police custody, revealed Vindu's name. Vindu was picked up from his suburban home Tuesday morning by a team of Mumbai police Crime Branch sleuths.

Actor Rajpal Yadav has not only impressed with his comic skills in films like "Hungama", and "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi", but also played the lead in films like "Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon!" and "Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh". The actor says he never decides about which role he has to play.
'Zaalim Dilli' brings Honey Singh on the big screen
For the first time, Indian rapper-music producer Honey Singh will be seen singing on the big screen in a song in "Zaalim Dilli". The film's director Japinder Kaur says it is a "dance number and it's a situational song". "This is for the first time that Honey Singh will feature in a song. It's a birthday bash song and it has shaped up very well. We shot for the song 10 days ago," Kaur told IANS. Featuring former Miss India Prachi Mishra, Divyendu Sharma and Ira Dubey, "Zaalim Dilli" is "a light-hearted comedy" made on a shoestring budget.
India invited as partner country for Cairo film fest
A Cairo International Film Festival representative has invited India as a partner country for the movie extravaganza, to be held in November. Soheir Abd El Kader, vice president of Cairo International Film festival, called on India's Information and Broadcasting Secretary Uday Kumar Varma to discuss India's participation as a partner country in the forthcoming edition of the Cairo gala.
'Online system for single-window clearance ready in three months'
An online mechanism, which will provide single-window clearance to foreign filmmakers keen to shoot in India, will be ready in three months, Information & Broadcasting Secretary Uday Kumar Varma said at the India Pavilion at the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival. According to a statement here, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be working on a roadmap to ensure the technological parameters for creating the platform for the single window clearance for shooting of films in India.
