The ancient classic story of the legendary king Rama is known to all Indians of all ages, all over the world. Rama is the original Indian super hero, the bravest warrior, the ideal king, and a virtuous human being.

Ramayana is the epic that gave us the concept of 'Dharma', the righteous path.

Countless versions of the story have been told and retold through the ages in all Indian languages. Numerous films, plays and television serials have been produced on the subject and the story is well known throughout South East Asia and China.

Even today, every year for ten days, the story of Rama is performed in folk plays called 'Ram-lila' in villages and towns all across India. His victory over evil is celebrated as a national holiday and he is prayed to as an incarnation of God in temples all over India.
