In the page which you add an article, there is a link called "Add Additional Images to your article", Cick on this link. This will bring up a window, which lets you manage your images. On the top there is an upload link, where you can upload your image. Once you have uploaded a list of your images. Click on the image in the window, this will bring up a description addition page, where you can add any description and then click insert. This will add a [img..] tag to your post body, an d when you click Submit, it will automatically show your added image in the post. The images that you add will be preserved and you can re-use them in future posts if you need to.

For adding videos from sites that support video embedding (E.g YouTube(, you can just add the embed link from that site into you post body. This wil show up the video when you submit your post.
