All of us must have heard about sizzling Parveen Babi, the heroine of yester years.She along with Zeenat Aman brought about a revolution in the Bollywood film industry.Those were the years when heroines were saree clad, fully draped from top to bottom.Parveen Babi changed all that and brought about a different trend with her bikinis and western clothes.She had the perfect body to fit into those clothes.She was the only Bollywood heroine to make her appearance on the cover page of TIME magazine.
She was paired against Amitabh in a lot of movies, and their pair was a big success.But sadly Parveen fell a prey to the disease Schizophernia, which affected her mental balance.She was supposed to have affairs with Danny Denongpa,kabir Bedi, Mahesh Bhat(who was the a married man) etc. It is told that after the release of the movie Arth in which a girl falls in love with a married man and then later on gets hysterical, her situation aggravated.Later she moved to US and paid India a visit after many years.She was no longer the leggy and hootie that she was. She was bloated out of proportion.She filed a case with Mumbai police saying that Sunjay dutt was involved in the 1993 bomb blasts, and she had evidences to prove it.When she was asked to appear in court she withdrew those charges. She also claimed that there was an international conspiracy to kill her, which involved bill Clinton, Amitabh Bachan etc.
Her situation aggravated and she led the life of a loner. Last year she was found dead in her Mumbai apartment. It was an irony that the gal who was a heart throb of many died alone.It is said that the movie Woh Lamhe is loosely based on the liasion between her and Mahesh Bhat.
