Although Ranma will defeats Kuno, he will sustain injuries after being distracted by Akane during the battle. As a result, Dr. Tofu provides medical treatment, and Ranma will become aware of Akane’s feelings toward the doctor in Ranma ½ Episode 3.

Ranma ½ Episode 2, titled ‘I Hate Men!,’ begins as Akane Tendo prepares for school, but her sister Nabiki reminds her that Ranma Saotome, due to their arranged engagement, will accompany her. The two bicker throughout the walk to school, prompting Genma to intervene, resulting in a comedic sparring session. At school, Akane faces numerous challengers due to a rumor that anyone who defeats her in combat can date her.

The main challenger is Tatewaki Kuno, a skilled kendo practitioner at Furinkan High. Jealous of Ranma, he challenges him to a fight, leading to several clashes, where Ranma’s transformation into a woman adds to the confusion in Ranma ½ Episode 2.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tofu, a local physician whom Akane admires, is introduced. Ranma ½ Episode 2 concludes with Kuno developing a crush on female Ranma, unaware that she is Ranma’s alternate form.
