Box Office Report: 'Singh Is Bliing' is the biggest opener for Akshay Kumar; 'Talvar' surprises at BO
Akshay Kumar's 'Singh Is Bliing' was off to a great start and has collected a whopping Rs. 18.25 crores on day one. According to Box Office India, the film's collection are the second highest first day collections for 2015. The holiday worked in favour of the film and it helped the collections go beyond 'ABCD 2' and 'Welcome Back'.
The film fared very good in Delhi / UP, East Punjab and Rajasthan, good in CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Gujarat/Saurashtra. With the first day collections so high, almost 30 percent more than first day collections of 'Brothers', it would be interesting to see how well the movie does on the second day.
Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi's critically acclaimed 'Talvar' has surprised all with its day one collections. The film earned Rs. 2.50 crore nett on day one apart from Rs. 50 lakhs from paid previews, taking the grand total to Rs. 3 crores.
With 'Talvar' receiving positive word of mouth, it surely stands a chance to make a decent collection on day 2.
