Box Office Report: Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani Day 2 Early Estimates
On the first day at the box-office windows, Dilwale did double the business as compared to Bajirao Mastani. While Dilwale earned Rs. 21.50 crores on its opening day, Bajirao Mastani collected Rs. 12.80 crores. However, Dilwale is looking at a little drop in collections on Saturday as the circuits where it opened strongly are set to drop while others will be flat or up a little. If Mumbai circuit can make decent gains, the film may have the same total as Friday otherwise it will be around the 20 crore nett mark.
The day two numbers look promising but much like the Diwali release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, the film is witnessing a drop in its Box Office figures. Add to it the fact that it doesn't have a holiday advantage either. The film is being held back in crucial areas like Mumbai, North and Central India.
Bajirao Mastani has shown decent gains of about 20-25% to take it to around the 15 crore nett mark. Multiplexes in metros showed a decent growth for the film. Bajirao Mastani is expected to grow over the next dew days considering the positive word of mouth, content and the ongoing holiday season.
The epic clash of the year, i.e. Dilwale vs Bajirao is sure to get more intense over the next couple of days. Who emerges as the box office winner in the Indian subcontinent might infact come out as a surprise. For now we wish both the films all the very best for the fun ride ahead.
