1st Weekend Box Office Report: Final Figures of Dilwale & Bajirao Mastani
The opening weekend collections of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani are finally out. While Dilwale had witnessed a slight drop on Saturday, on Sunday the film had an increase in the numbers. The Shah Rukh-Kajol starrer made INR 24 crores on Sunday, taking the three day total of the film to INR 65.09 crores.
Bajirao Mastani on the other hand witnessed a gradual increase in its graph. After showing a 21% increase in its Saturday collections over Friday, the Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone starrer showed a 44% jump in Sunday collections over Friday, with the movie earning INR 18.45 crores, making a grand total of INR 46.77 crores at the Indian Box Office.
In the Overseas market, Dilwale has earned 8.5 Million USD i.e. approximately INR. 56 crores, taking the grand India and Overseas total to INR 121 crores.
With the issue of screen wars more or less resolved and the Intolerance and Peshwa Family controversy slowly and steadily dying down, both the films are expected to do well Monday onwards. While Dilwale boasts of SRK-Kajol reunion, the rave reviews for Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka is surely creating a positive word of mouth.
Now that the films have picked up pace on Sunday, it would be interesting to see how much do the films earn on the first Monday because that is something which will determine the movies' week 1 business!
