Box Office Report: Bajirao Mastani Steady, Dilwale Drops on 1st Monday
With Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale releasing on the same day, the Box Office war was bound to heat up! While Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer opened well and earned INR 65.09 crores, the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer had collected INR 46.77 crores.
In the opening weekend, Dilwale was clearly leading the way as the movie grossed INR 121 crores Worldwide compared to Bajirao Mastani that had earned INR 90 crores.
However, the tables have turned on the First Monday. According to trade reports, Dilwale has witnessed a massive drop of 55% from its Friday collections. The Rohit Shetty film has made INR 9.5 crores on Monday whereas the Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama has collected INR 10.25 crores, taking the film's total to INR 57.02 crores. With this, Bajirao Mastani has also crossed the 100 crores mark gross worldwide.
Going by the Monday collections, Dilwale will close Week 1 at approximately INR 95 crores while Bajirao Mastani will earn INR 80 crores.
