Box Office Report: Star Wars Performs Average on Day 1

Star Wars: The Force Awakens released in India on December 25, and while many predicted the film will perform well and might pose a problem to the existing biggies Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani, things seem to have been different.

The Hollywood movie has grossed INR 3.50 crores nett on day one. Though worldwide, the film has had a huge crazy, in India it is not that strong. The film's paid previews earned INR 1 crore, making its grand total of INR 4.50 crores. 

Going by the first day collections, it would be interesting to see how does the film fare in it opening weekend.
