Box Office Report: Impressive Start for Akshay Kumar's Airlift on Day 1
Akshay Kumar's Airlift has had an impressive start at the box office. After opening to a slow start, the movie earned INR 12.35 crores on its opening day.
Airlift grossed well in big cities however the mass centres had low collections.
While the collections of Airlift are lower than other Akshay Kumar's other films of 2015 - Singh Is Bliing and Gabbar Is Back, it is more than Kumar's first film of 2015 - Baby. The Neeraj Pandey movie had opened to INR 7.84 crores whereas Phantom which was of same genre as Airlift earned INR 8.39 crores.
The main business for the film has come in Mumbai, Delhi/UP and East Punjab and Mysore should show huge growth on Saturday and a growth of 20-25% will put the movie in a good position. Also the National Holiday on Tuesday should work wonders for the film.
