After recording great advance bookings, Shah Rukh Khan's Fan is off to a good start at the box office. Most multiplexes are registering around 45-50% of occupancy in the morning shows. Though this is slightly lesser than Dilwale, but then Fan has more number of screens and given that today is a holiday on account of Ram Navami, chances of Fan surpassing the business of Dilwale is high.

According to trade sources, this is the best opening that a film has witnessed at the box office after a gap of four months, the last one being the SRK starrer Dilwale itself. No other Bollywood film enjoyed a massive opening. However, two Hollywood movies - The Jungle Book and Batman vs Superman did earn good numbers, thanks to their dubbed versions doing well.

In case of Fan, the multiplexes of West Bengal and Pune are recording high numbers. However, the exact first day figures are yet to be known!
