Rajinikanth's Kabali hit the screens today and as expected, the box office reports have been shattering most records. The movie has opened exceptionally well and

has become the biggest opener of 2016.

The movie earned INR 20.50 crores in Tamil Nadu and has smashed all records in the state. The Hindi version of Kabali has earned approximate INR 4 crores. The grand total of the Rajinikanth starrer is INR 44.75 crores.

While Kabali has beat the day one records of Salman Khan starrer Sultan which fared INR 36 crores on opening day, the movie failed to cross the records created by Baahubali. The S.S. Rajamouli directed affair earned INR 50 crores on its opening day.

The film's business is expected to increase in the weekend as there is no major hindi film that has released alongside the Rajinikanth starrer.
