Box Office Report: Akshay's Rustom does better than Hrithik's Mohenjo Daro!
Two big films - Rustom and Mohenjo Daro released at the box office yesterday and the clash was a topic of discussion amongst the trade circuits. Initial reports suggested that Rustom was leading over Mohenjo Daro.
The day 1 collections of both the films are out and as expected, the Akshay Kumar starrer has performed better than the Hrithik Roshan movie.
While Akshay's Rustom earned INR 14 crores on its first day, Hrithik's Mohenjo Daro collected INR 8.75 crores. With this, Rustom has become the 4th highest opener of 2016 after Sultan, Fan and Housefull 3 whereas Mohenjo Daro has occupied the 8th position. It has also become the second lowest opener for Hrithik Roshan after Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara that fared INR 7.50 crores on its first day.
Though Rustom has received mixed reviews from critics,the audience has given it a thumbs up. Mohenjo Daro, on the other hand has been panned by the critics and the audience too, hasn't lapped up the film yet.
Given that this is an extended weekend, it would be interesting to see how well the films perform in the coming days!
