Box Office Report: Aamir's Dangal is 2nd best opener after Salman's Sultan, records biggest single day ever in India
As predicted by the trade experts, Aamir Khan's Dangal has smashed yet another record as it has collected the biggest ever single day collection on Sunday by earning INR 42.35 crore. With this, the three-day total of the film stands at INR 104.39 crore.
The Tamil and Telugu version of the film recorded INR 1.07 crore on Sunday, making it a grand total of INR 106.95 crore.
While this is a massive number given the nature of the film, it didn't manage to beat Salman Khan's Sultan's collections in the opening weekend. Sultan earned INR 105.34 crore in three days.
Dangal now has emerged the second best opener of not just 2016 but of all time. Incidentally, Dangal has also become the third film to earn INR 100 crore in three days after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Disney, Dangal also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Aparshakti Khurrana and Sakshi Tanwar. The movie released on December 23, 2016.
