Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil have locked horns today. While Raees has taken off to an excellent start, Kaabil is struggling with an average opening at the box office.

According to a trade site, the SRK starrer has recorded an excellent opening of 55-60% in the morning shows and is one of the best openings since Salman Khan's Sultan. It has also eclipsed the morning shows of Aamir Khan's Dangal. The multiplexes have scored big too along with single screens. As expected, Raees is performing exceptionally well in Gujarat.

Kaabil on the other hand opened to 20-25% occupancy. The Hrithik Roshan starrer has got 25% opening of Raees at some places whereas at some places it has got 50% of the movie. Given that tomorrow is a National holiday on account of Republic Day, business is expected to increase, but it will be a less as compared to the other film.

With the current collections, it won't be wrong to say that in this clash, Raees seems to be witnessing a strong lead and it is a one-sided affair.

While Raees is directed by Rahul Dholakia and is produced by Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment, Kaabil is directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by Filmkraft Productions. Raees also stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead whereas Kaabil has Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy play the pivotal roles.
