Baahubali 2 Hindi version SMASHES all records, beats Sultan and Dangal's opening weekend collections
Baahubali 2 witnesses a record opening in its first weekend as it beats the collections of Sultan and Dangal.
After creating records on day one and day two of its release, S.S. Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has created history on the third day of its release, thus smashing all the previous records held by other films. The Hindi version of the movie has created a history of sorts as the movie earned more than INR 125 crore in its opening weekend.
According to a trade site, the movie made INR 46 crore on the third day, thus taking the three-day opening weekend collection to INR 127 crore. With this collection, Baahubali 2 has beaten Salman Khan's Sultan which minted INR 105 crore in its opening weekend.
Interestingly, the movie has made INR 300 crore nett across India. Worldwide, the number for Baahubali 2 is unimaginable. Including all languages, in just three days, the movie has earned INR 500 crore.
While the gross business for India is approximately INR 395 crore, overseas it has made $18-19 Million.
The worldwide total of Baahubali 2 stands at a staggering INR 506 crore. At this pace, the movie will beat the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan's Dangal.
Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead. The movie released globally on April 28, 2017.
However, the production numbers of the magnum opus are awaited. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Baahubali2 *Hindi version* rewrites HISTORY. DEMOLISHES *all* records [including #Dangal and #Sultan]. Await final number. Opening weekend."
