Salman Khan's latest release Tubelight has been struggling to retain its spot at the box office. The movie barely managed to cross the coveted INR 100 crore mark on Day 6 of its release and since then has been on a dropping spree.

On eight day of its release, the Kabir Khan directed affair earned INR 2.25 crore taking the grand total to a meager INR 105 crore.

Given that the movie has had a slow run at the box office, it looks dicey for it to have big numbers in its second weekend too. Going by a trade site, Tubelight may approximately earn INR 9 crore in its second weekend provided it records a jump on its second Saturday and Sunday.

However, with the introduction of GST, the ticket sales are surely going to be affected. Also, with the second weekend being a non-holiday period, it will not be able to pull off the decent collections it managed in the first weekend.

The current trend suggests, that Salman Khan's Tubelight will end up being the second highest grosser of first half of 2017, after Shah Rukh Khan's Raees. It is surprising to see that two biggest films of first half of 2017 starring two biggest superstars will score a lifetime collections in the range of INR 120-130 crore.

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Salman Khan Films, Tubelight also starred Sohail Khan, Martin Ray Tangu, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and late Om Puri in the lead. It released on June 23, 2017.
