For weeks, MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) fans tried their best to make Avengers: Endgame numero uno; as the most successful film, ever made. Robert Downey Jr.'s film was trailing behind James Cameron's Avatar (2009) which stood tall for a decade at a massive $2.88 billion lifetime box-office collection. Then came the re-release of Avengers: Endgame with six minutes of bonus footage and that was the boost required to get the fans back to the theatres. Finally, this Russo Brothers' directorial has won the game of thrones!

It was at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 where it was revealed by Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige that Avengers: Endgame has dethroned Avatar and is now the most successful film, ever made. "A huge congratulations to the Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios teams, and thank you to the fans around the world who lifted Avengers: Endgame to these historic heights," Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn said to The Hollywood Reporter. Avengers: Endgame has collected $2.789 billion at the global box-office.
