Avengers: Endgame was the most awaited movie of the year and box office records are a proof of the same. It has smashed domestic as well as international records and even toppled Titanic to be the second highest-grossing movie of all time. And now, it is behind just by a short margin from becoming the most successful movie till now by beating the current holder Avatar. As per Box Office Mojo, the 2009 James Cameron movie collected USD 2.78 billion at the global box office and Marvel's Avengers: Endgame has till now minted USD 2.62 billion.

Many reports earlier suggested that Avengers: Endgame will soon beat Avatar to be the successful movie of all time, but now, industry experts are stating that the Marvel movie may find it tough to topple Avatar as it has slowed down more than expected. Shawn Robbins, the chief analyst at Box Office Media told The Hollywood Reporter, "It's slowed down more than we all expected."

He earlier said that Endgame may break Avatar's record around mid-June, but he now suggested the chances seem bleak and may reach Avatar's collection by Labour Day.

Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at ComScore said, "Avatar was all about the marathon and now it's about the sprint". He added, "If it performs like it has been up to this point, there is about a $10 million to $20 million margin that falls half north and half south of Avatar. But it would be surprising if Disney didn't get it there somehow."
