John Abraham starrer Batla House wrapped up its first weekend at the box office and the film's collections did not disappoint. The action drama which performed better than expected on its first day, saw a significant jump on Sunday as compared to the collections on Saturday. The action drama flick which released on Independence Day is based on the the real life story of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who headed the Batla House encounter, that took place in New Delhi's Jamia Nagar in 2008.

According to a report in Box Office India, on day 4, i.e. Sunday, Batla House raked in an impressive Rs 12 crore nett taking the film's total collection to Rs 43.50 crore. The total collection is a decent number for an extended weekend since the movie released on a national holiday. Batla House is performing better up North in Delhi and in Uttar Pradesh. But circuits like Gujarat and Mumbai which usually perform well have not shown the same result for John Abraham's film.

However, the film is far behind the multi-starrer Mission Mangal which released on the same day.  The film stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi and has crossed Rs 100 crore in just a matter of few days. Mission Mangal has continued its exceptional run at the box office.
