Batla House Box Office Collection Day 5: John Abraham's reel life encounter maintains steady pace on Monday
Given that Batla House did not have an impressive opening on Independence Day, the film's collection so far has been decent. Read on to know how much it collected on day 5.
John Abraham starrer Batla House had its first weekday test on Monday as the film completed four days of an extended weekend at the box office. The results are out and the action thriller seems to have held well on Monday. Given that Batla House did not have an impressive opening on Independence Day, the film's collection so far has been decent. According to a report in Box Office India, the Monday collections fell around 40 per cent.
On day 5, i.e Monday, Batla House raked in Rs 4.50 crore taking the John Abraham starrer's total collection to Rs 48 crore nett. As per the report, the extended first week could go up to Rs 59 to 60 crore nett which isn't all that bad considering it experienced some tough competition from Mission Mangal.
Batla House has been doing its best business in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. But the film has not done enough in an otherwise well-performing state of Gujarat. The Mumbai circuit has managed to hold fairly well and so has Pune. As per BOI, the target for the film is to probably cross or finish in the range of last year's Satyameva Jayate which did around Rs 80 crore nett and if it holds solid on its second Friday there is a chance of that happening.
The action drama flick which released on Independence Day is based on the the real life story of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who headed the Batla House encounter, that took place in New Delhi's Jamia Nagar in 2008.
