Batla House Box Office Collection Day 8: John Abraham starrer mints THIS much in its first week
John Abraham starrer Batla House released last week and is doing pretty well at the box office. Check out the Day 8 collection of the film.
John Abraham starrer nationalistic action cop drama Batla House hit the screens last week. The actor has already shown his magic with films like RAW (Romeo Akbar Walter) and Satyamev Jayate in the past. Batla House aims to project the truth behind the 2008 encounter with alleged terrorists that took place at Batla House in Jamia Nagar in Delhi. Recently, the makers gave a sneak peek to the audience at the making of Batla House. The film had a box office clash with the Akshay Kumar starrer space film Mission Mangal.
Batla House performed pretty well in its extended first week with the total collections of Rs 59.50 crore nett in eight days, bagging Rs 3.50 crore nett on Thursday. The first day collections of the film could have been better but it has managed to sustain well after the big national holiday of 15 August on day one. The collections are a bit lesser than John's film Satyameva Jayate last year as it earned Rs 59.35 crore nett in seven days. while this is doing it in eight days but there are high expectations that Batla House will do better than that film after the first week.
The film can become a HIT if it holds well in the second week and the lack of competition should help it do that. Sharing details about his character in the film, John had earlier said, "My character (DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav), is based on a real police officer, presently serving in the Delhi Special Cell and not a work of fiction. For me, he is a real superhero, the most awarded police officer in India. I hope I have done justice to the part."
