The box office dud of 2017 has finally come to an end thanks to the Diwali blockbuster that is Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra's movie Golmaal Again.

The movie, which is the fourth installment of the Golmaal franchise, collected INR 30 crore on Day 1 and holds its ground on Day 2 as well. Day 2 saw the movie rake in INR 28.50 crore at the box office, according to a leading trade website.

Now, that is a huge number indeed! Diwali really proved to be lucky for Devgn as Golmaal Again is the highest opening grosser of 2017 as it beat Salman Khan's Tubelight which collected INR 20.75 crore on Day 1.

It's interesting to know that the occupancy rate in India for the first two days of Golmaal Again is on par with that of the magnum opus, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

When it comes to the cast, Golmaal Again includes the original Golmaal team comprising of Ajay, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. Joining the team as new additions are Parineeti Chopra, Tabu and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Golmaal Again is directed by Rohit Shetty.

In an interview, when Ajay was asked whether box office expectations add pressure on him as an actor, he replied, "Earlier nobody was printing it and hence it [pressure] was not there. Today you guys are printing it, and hence people have started taking numbers seriously. To me, box office numbers do matter because if you invest a certain amount, you need to recover. But that’s not the only concern for me, as even appreciation matters a lot."
