Box Office Report: Kabir Singh, Super 30 and Article 15, here's how much these recent releases have minted
The latest film releases in the last month have created quite an impact with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh leading the pack.
The first half of 2019 has seen some unexpected movies doing extremely well at the box office. Whereas some others, tanking massively despite a stellar star cast. By now, it is a known fact that films with strong content manage to survive week after week at the cinemas. Even if a film has an A-list lineup, it is bound to fail at the box office if the film's story is not the hero. For example, this year's biggest upset so far has been Karan Johar's Kalank starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Despite going to great lengths to promote the film, Kalank failed to impress the audiences after a great first day collection.
However, the latest films in the last month have created quite an impact with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh leading the pack. The Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy created a stir on and off the screens. The film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in less than a week after its release. It went on to break records and eventually also beat Uri: The Surgical Strike and Salman Khan's Bharat. The total collection of Kabir Singh now stands at a staggering Rs 270 crore nett.

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15 released a week after Kabir Singh and was off to a decent start. The social drama left the critics impressed and the audiences as well. However, given the film's intense subject, the film did not turn out to be everyone's cup of tea. But Ayushamann's role as an unconventional cop won him praises from all quarters and the film's total collection after three weeks stands at Rs 60.50 crore nett.
To give both the films a stiff competition, Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 released on July 12 and took the box office by storm. The drama flick which is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar had a brilliant first week at the box office. And the Vikas Bahl directorial continues to maintain its stronghold despite Hollywood releases. The film's total collection currently stands at Rs 106.46 crore nett and as per trade analysts the film may touch Rs 130 crore nett in the coming days.
