Captain Marvel Box Office Collection Day 2: Brie Larson starrer earns Rs 32.28 crore in just two days
The Marvel film starring Brie Larson earned Rs 16.79 crore on Saturday, taking the total collection to Rs 32.28 crore.
Marvel Studios' first film of 2019 has received a thunderous box office opening in India. Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson saw an excellent day one collection at the box office. The opening day collection was Rs 15.49 crore. Marvel's first female-led superhero film continued its winning streak on the second day at the box office. The film earned Rs 16.79 crore on Saturday, taking the total collection to Rs 32.28 crore.
"Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel opened with 15.49 crs GBOC ( 13.01 Crores NBOC) - (revised nos) on day 1, making it the biggest opening for any solo Super Hero movie. And continues its the winning streak on day 2 as well, earning Rs 16.79 Crore GBOC (14.10 crs NBOC) and a growth of 8% from Day 1. The total stands at 32.28 Crores GBOC ( 27.11 Crores NBOC)," a statement read.
Captain Marvel has beat all films of 2019 so far to have the highest opening on Day 1. Once Sunday's box office collections are taken into account, we won't be surprised if the film touches the Rs 50 crore benchmark. As per trade analyst Girish Johar's tweet, Captain Marvel is likely to cross USD 500 million at the global box office. Another trade analyst Girish Johar also echoed similar prediction for the Marvel film. He said that the film will target to collect Rs 40 crore and plus in its opening weekend.
