However, MCU decided to present a female superhero lead film in the form of the story of Carol Danvers. The movie stars Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. Captain Marvel depicts a time of 1995 and is based on how Carol Danvers gets to be a superhero.
The movie released globally on International Women’s Day, i.e. March 8 and has been getting rave reviews from all the fans of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Talking about numbers in India, Captain Marvel’s first day box office occupancy is the parameter to judge as to how well the audiences are receiving this action-packed superhero flick. In India, Captain Marvel released in 1,900 screens and still has managed to receive the biggest opening of 2019 India with a box office occupancy of 45-50%
This is in line with the box office collection prediction by Film and Trade Analyst, Girish Johar where he said, “The target audience for Captain Marvel is prominently the teenagers and the youth. They are looking forward and are excited about the film. So considering Captain Marvel will release in different languages, I feel the first-day box office collection will be around Rs 6-7 crore.”

This means Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel has beats Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy and Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal on the opening day itself. Going by the audiences reaction, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel manages to bewitch everyone with her stunning performance. After Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel has managed to draw audiences to the theatre and also has kept them hooked to the core. The actual numbers will be in by the end of the day. But seeing the initial occupancy of a non-holiday release, it seems audiences are in awe of the latest superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
