Godzilla: King of the Monsters Box Office Collection Day 4 India: Millie Bobby Brown starrer has a decent hold

Godzilla: King of the Monsters which has received poor reviews from both masses and critics witnessed a jump in collections during the weekend. The day 4 i.e. the Sunday's collection was Rs 5 crore and 25 lakhs, as per Box Office India. For the unversed, on its opening day, the film collected Rs 2 crore 25 lakhs and garnered a crore extra on its day 2. Saturday's collections saw again a rise of a crore and a half. So, the net total of the movie till now is Rs 15 crore and 25 lakhs.
The movie is getting a tough competition from Aladdin and will get more stiff competition form the upcoming mega Bollywood movie, Bharat. The BOI report read, "The film had to be stronger over the first four days as it will be a shortened week due to Bharat. The Thursday release could have been down to Bharat also."
Speaking of the movie, the movie which is bankrolled by Legendary Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros.is a sequel to 2014's Godzilla. Jeff Goldstein, distribution chief for Warner Bros. is of the belief that USD 200-million budgeted "King of the Monsters" will keep drawing cinephiles to this franchise. He said, "The avid fans of Godzilla came out Thursday and Friday. The real key for us is how broadly can we expand over the next couple of weeks? Can we hold on to an interest that's wider than the regular Godzilla fans? I think we can."
