Jason Momoa's Aquaman registers a good domestic first weekend collection as it releases a week before the US
The first-weekend domestic box office collection of Jason Momoa starrer Aquaman is out and it's indeed a good start for the Hollywood superhero flick. Aquaman released in India, a week before the US, on December 14, 2018.
Aquaman is the latest superhero film that has us all excited and how! The critics' reviews have been mixed but all agree that it's a mad roller coaster ride, all thanks to the lead hero - Jason Momoa. The DC movie has generated a lot of curiosity amongst the fans of both the comic series which the film is derived from and the ones who look forward to witnessing a visual extravaganza on the screen. Aquaman also stars Amber Hear, William Defoe and Nicole Kidman in pivotal roles.
The China release of Aquaman saw a staggering opening weekend of $93.6 million, which is a magnificent start for the movie. While the US release is on December 21, 2018, India was lucky as we got to witness Aquaman, a week before America. Aquaman released in India on December 14, 2018, and was distributed by Sajid Qureshi’s Inbox Pictures. When it comes to the domestic box office numbers, Momoa's film saw a good first-weekend collection which stood at Rs 24 crore (Friday - Rs 2.25 crore, Saturday - Rs 5.50 crore, Sunday - Rs 7.50 crore).

Meanwhile, in an interview, Jason had revealed that playing Aquaman was his toughest role till date. "Aquaman is the hardest movie I' ve done in my life, physically, and I had two stunt doubles. Both of them got hurt, and so did I. The sheer amount of stunts and action in this was insane," the actor shared.
