Kabir Singh Box Office Collection Day 9: Shahid Kapoor starrer continues extraordinary run; mints Rs 162 crore

After a record opening, the intense drama flick managed to cross Rs 100 crore in just four days since its release and looks like there's no stopping the film. Playing a character which dominantly portrays anger and violence, Shahid Kapoor has been winning praises from all quarters for his performance. Kiara Advani, who plays his love interest, is also not far behind as the actress has left the audiences with an impressive onscreen performance.
On its second Saturday, that is June 29, Kabir Singh continued its extraordinary run at the box office. Raking in Rs 16.50 to 17 crore nett, Kabir Singh's collection jumped around 40 per cent as compared to the weekday numbers. According to a report in Box Office India, the total collections of the film now stand at Rs 162 crore nett making it the third highest grosser of the year till date. The report also suggests that if this trend continues, Kabir Singh will become the highest grosser of 2019 soon.
Despite releasing on a non-holiday weekend, Kabir Singh earned big bucks and will soon hit the Rs 200 crore mark. Directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, it is the remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda. Released in 2016, Arjun Reddy's lifetime collection was Rs 49 crore which Kabir Singh crossed in three days time.
The collections are expected to witness a downfall on Sunday given India's world cup cricket match against England.
