Despite the release of Super 30 and The Lion King, Sandeep Vanga Reddy's directorial is still running successfully at the domestic box office.
Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh has not only had a successful run at the box office but broken scores of records. It has been over a month since the film released but is still running in theatres and raking in a decent amount of money during the week and weekend. Despite the release of Super 30 and The Lion King, Sandeep Vanga Reddy's directorial is still occupying certain screens in theatres across India. The film had another solid weekend with a decent collection adding to its massive total.
According to a report in Box Office India, Kabir Singh raked in Rs 1.50 crore net on Saturday and Rs 2.25 crore on Sunday in its fifth weekend. Whereas on Friday, the film earned Rs 1 crore nett at the box office taking the total collection of the film to Rs 269 crore nett.
The fifth week business dropped but still is among the top ten of all time, BOI reported. It added that the footfalls of Kabir Singh have crossed Salman Khan's films such as Kick and Ek Tha Tiger and is closing on in films like Dabangg and Chennai Express. It will be among the top 25 most watched films in the theatres in the last 25 years.
Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy starring south star Vijay Deverakonda. While the film has been bashed for its misogynistic content, Shahid and Kiara have received praises from all quarters for their performance.
