The Lion King Box Office Collection Day 11: Simba continues to roar loud; eyes at entering 150 Cr club
The Lion King continues to rule over the box office in India. After entering the Rs 100 crore club over the weekend, the movie is now eyeing to mint at Rs 150 crore from the India box office.
The lion is the king of the jungle and The Lion King is king of the box office. The Disney movie released two weekends ago and it has been giving Bollywood releases in India some tough competition. After recording an impressive opening box office collection, The Lion King put up a great show over its second weekend, recording more than Rs 30 crore by the end of its second Sunday, pushing the movie to record Rs 100 crore in India. Yesterday's box office collections now reveal that The Lion King has recorded a brilliant second Monday collection as well.
According to Box Office India, The Lion King witness a 35 percent drop in its second Monday in the theatres. Regardless of that, the movie minted Rs 3.25 crore on Day 11. The Monday collections bring The Lion King's India box office collection total to Rs 116.44 crore nett. The second week's collection stands at Rs 35.50 crore.
The report adds that the movie will comfortably make its way past the Rs 150 crore nett mark. The lion could bow down to a total India collection of Rs 160 crore nett. These numbers depend on the movie's performance at the box office in the next two weeks. The Lion King has become the fourth Disney movie to have surpassed the 100-crore mark. The first three movies are The Jungle Book, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
The Monday numbers are impressive also because The Lion King stood against Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya and Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon's Arjun Patiala. Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, written by Jeff Nathanson, The Lion King stars voices of Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones as Mufasa. The Hindi version sees Shah Rukh Khan voicing for Mufasa and his son Aryan Khan as Simba.
