The Lion King Box Office Collection Day 2: Disney film earns a staggering amount on first Saturday

After taking us through a joyride of emotions years ago, The Lion King returned to the big screens on Friday to dazzle us yet again. The Lion King also introduces a brand new generation to the journey of Simba, from a young cub to the King of the Pride Lands. While the 90s kids will be reliving the magic all over again. In India, The Lion King started off on a decent note on Friday, July 19 and has shown a huge jump in its box office collection for Saturday.
According to a report in Box Office India, The Lion King witnessed a jump of almost 70 per cent on Saturday. On day 2, i.e. Saturday, the film raked in Rs 19 crore nett at the box office. On Friday, The Lion King had minted a good Rs 11 crore nett. With two days of collection, the film's total now stands at Rs 30 crore nett. The film is expected to do well on Sunday also. It will, however, may face competition from Super 30 and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The iconic film revolves around the story of Simba, a young lion who has to succeed his father, Mufasa, as the King of the Pride Lands. It is helmed by Jon Favreau and is produced by Karen Gilchrist, Jeffrey Silver and Jon Favreau. The Hindi version of The Lion King has Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan voicing Mufasa and Simba respectively.
