The Lion King Box Office Collection India Day 8: Disney film witnesses huge growth on second Saturday

Looks like the lion has roared and that too a mighty roar as The Lion King is just a few crores away from crossing the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. One week ago, the photorealistic remake of Disney's traditionally animated 1994 film released, and audience rushed to the theatres to watch the story of Simba, the young cub.
Now on day 8, i.e Saturday, The Lion King showed phenomenal growth on its second Saturday as collections rose around 120 per cent from Friday, reported Box Office India. The Disney film raked in Rs 11.50 crore nett on Saturday taking the total collection of The Lion King to Rs 97.69 crore nett.
The film may do similarly on Sunday and is expected to cross Rs 100 crores in less than 10 days. Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, written by Jeff Nathanson and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, The Lion King has done exceptionally well at the box office.
The film stars voices of Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones as Mufasa, while the Hindi version stars voices of Shah Rukh Khan as Mufasa and his son Aryan Khan as Simba. In the coming days, it may face some competition from Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya.
