The Lion King Weekend Box Office Collection India: Disney film creates THIS record after Avengers: Endgame
According to a report in Box Office India, The Lion King's weekend collection is only the third time that a Hollywood film has crossed Rs 30 crore nett in the second weekend.
The Lion King created a storm over the weekend as it recorded the second highest, second weekend of all time after Avengers: Endgame for Hollywood films at the domestic box office. The Disney film which comfortably crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in the first few days, has now managed to enter the Rs 100 crore club within ten days. The photorealistic remake of Disney's traditionally animated 1994 film collected a huge Rs 32.25 crore nett over the weekend in India.
According to a report in Box Office India, The Lion King's weekend collection is only the third time that a Hollywood film has crossed Rs 30 crore nett in the second weekend. It was Avengers: Endgame which topped the chart as it collected close to Rs 50 crore nett in the second weekend. Apart from these two, Avengers: Infinity War had also collected Rs 30.77 crore nett in its second weekend.
On day 10, i.e. Sunday, The Lion King raked in Rs 15 crore nett taking the film's total collection to an impressive Rs 113 crore nett. The report added that the film may touch Rs 150 crore if it continues to fare decently during the week and maintains its stronghold. Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, written by Jeff Nathanson and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, The Lion King has done exceptionally well at the box office.
The film stars voices of Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones as Mufasa, while the Hindi version stars voices of Shah Rukh Khan as Mufasa and his son Aryan Khan as Simba.
