Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Luka Chuppi is enjoying its dream run at the box office. The film has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark and has collected Rs 53.70 crore within a week of its release. The movie buffs are appreciating the content, light humour, and performances by both the lead and the supporting cast. The movie deals with the idea of live-in relationships in small-town India. Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon have a strong youth base and it’s somewhere attracting the viewers to the theatres.
Luka Chuppi received a mixed response on the day of its release but the word of mouth worked in the favour of the film. Kartik took to Twitter to thank fans for showering Luka Chuppi with so much love. "Thank you for giving me my best weekend. #SoldOut. I tried to do something new post #Sonu and the amount of love that has been showered upon the film and Guddu is unreal... Thank you for accepting #Guddu Keep watching #LukaChuppi saparivaar," he wrote. Luka Chuppi clashed with Sushant Singh Rajput's Sonchiriya at the box office. The movie has taken the lead as it got an edge over Sonchiriya. Luka Chuppi released in 2100 screens and Sonchiriya got only 720 screens. With Luka Chuppi, Kartik has got its biggest week 1 grosser. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety collected Rs 45.94 crore in seven days of its release while Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 minted Rs 39.25 crore in the first week.
