Malaal Box Office Collection Day 1: Meezaan and Sharmin Segal starrer kickstarts on a low pace
Malaal, starring debutants Meezaan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal in lead roles, released yesterday. Here's the Day one box office collection of the film.
Legendary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has launched many present life superstars like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and many others. The latest newbie in the town is Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezaan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal in their recent film Malaal. The story of the film revolves around Shiva and Astha, two very different people from different backgrounds who experience the innocence of love.
Malaal stands very low with total collections of Rs 45-50 lakhs on day one. The box office collections of this film are lower than Loveyatri and Notebook released in October 2018 and March 2019 respectively which also starred debutants. There are very low chances for the film to grow as the collections are too low for the release size of this film.
Meanwhile, the lead actor Meezaan was complimented by some people saying that he looks like a 'love child' of Ranveer and Ranbir. Reacting to the same, he said, "I think it’s because I spent three years working on this film and in these three years, I had to grow my hair out and my beard and I think it’s more of the hair and the beard that really made that comparison. But otherwise I feel that I am extremely different from both of them. But it is a big, big compliment to be compared to or even be considered the lovechild of the two of them. It’s weird but it’s a big compliment."
