Mission Mangal and Batla House Box Office Collection: Independence Day releases mint good numbers in 2nd week

The multi-starrer space film Mission Mangal hit the theatres two weeks ago and is still minting good numbers at the box office.


The film features Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi and Kirti Kulhari among others. Also, John Abraham's nationalistic drama Batla House also released on Independence Day and is performing pretty well at the box office.

According to Box Office India, Mission Mangal had an excellent second week as it collected Rs 48 crore nett, taking its two week total to Rs 173 crore nett. The film minted Rs 2.75 crore nett on Thursday. The second week collections are the third best of the year after Kabir Singh and URI - The Surgical Strike and the film is also the third biggest hit of the year after those two films. It is also the biggest hit of Akshay Kumar in the last five years. 

On the other hand, Batla House also experienced a good second week of Rs 23.50 crore nett and took its two week total to Rs 83 crore nett and has been declared a hit film now. The film earned Rs 1.5 crore nett on Thursday. The John Abraham starrer saw rise in the collection due to Janmashtami in the second week. There will be a drop in business today for both the films because of Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Saaho.
