Talking about the movie, the same is directed by famous film-maker Nitin Kakkar and the movie is apparently based on the Thai film named A Teacher's Diary. It revolves around Kabir, an ex-army officer, who comes to teach in Kashmir. He discovers a diary which was left behind by the previous teacher Firdaus, and later, he falls in love with her after learning her story. The movie has been getting positive reviews from all the quarters.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Zaheer had revealed how he bagged the role. He mentioned, "Notebook happened to me while I was dancing at my sister's wedding at her sangeet performance. We had shot a video of a story where my sister and brother-in-law win the local best couple award in 2025, and I was playing my brother-in-law's part and every time the song appeared in the video, I had to come on stage and dance to it. When I got off the stage, Salman (Khan) bhai happened to be there because he is my dad's childhood friend. He wasn't supposed to be there since he had a court case in Jaipur but that got pushed."
