The Sky Is Pink Box Office Collection Day 2: Priyanka Chopra starrer struggles to draw audiences on Saturday
Priyanka Chopra’s The Sky Is Pink, which opened to a low start at the box office, is still struggling to be a crowd-puller on its second day of release.
Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar starrer The Sky Is Pink was certainly one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The makers had pinned high hopes from the movie and the cast was seen promoting is extensively on both national and international levels. And while The Sky Is Pink was expected to take the box office with a storm, it has failed to make an impact at the box office. Despite opening to rave reviews from the audience and being hailed by the critics, this Shonali Bose directorial is struggling at the ticket windows.
To note, The Sky Is Pink opened on a dry note on its day of release with a collection of Rs. 2.50 crores. Although the day two collections did see a jump in its earnings, the movie is still striving to draw the audience to the theatres. Reportedly, after a mediocre start on the first day, The Sky Is Pink witnessed a hike of 60% in its collection on Saturday.
The movie has raked in Rs. 4 crores on its second day of release taking the overall collections to a total of Rs. 6.50 crores. Although the slight jump in collections did come as a sigh of relief for the audience, The Sky Is Pink still has a long way to go as the opening weekend collections will determine its future at the box office.
Meanwhile, the Priyanka and Farhan starrer is also facing tough competition from Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War. The action entertainer, which was released on October 2, continues to go strong at the box office. In fact, the movie is all set to emerge as the highest grosser of the year. While War has proven to be a juggernaut at the box office, we wonder if The Sky Is Pink will be able to survive this competition.
