Sui Dhaaga box office collection day 1: Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma film is off to a fair start

Sui Dhaaga revolves around the story of a couple, Mauji (Varun ) and Mamta (Anushka) who take control of their lives by establishing their own textile business. Nowadays, the fate of a film rides a lot on its promotional campaigns, and the makers of Sui Dhaaga went all out to promote the film. From Delhi, Ahmadabad, Jaipur to Kolkata, Varun and Anushka visited different cities to promote their film and the buzz around the film was at its peak. As a matter of fact, the film received mixed reviews from both critics and audience, while some were impressed by the simple narrative, others found it too boring.
From doing Sui Dhaaga Challenges on social media to promoting the film on television, Sui Dhaaga’s marketing was on point. As stated by Box Office India, “Sui Dhaaga - Made In India had a decent first day of around 8.25 crore nett apprx with the big cricket match slowing the collections in the evening and that too when the target audience would have been coming for the film. The growth will come over the weekend as it makes up the lost ground on Friday and if the weekend family audience takes to the film it will sustain very well.” As per reports, Sui Dhaaga was released on 2,500 screens across India, and the film reportedly witnessed an occupancy of around 35-40 percent in theatres on the opening day.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Sui Dhaaga opened to Rs. 8.3 crore on Friday but he explained that the movie is expected to show a big jump over the weekend and continue to perform well at the box office.
