Indian history is full of mysteries. While some were solved back in the days, others still continue to remain a mystery. This Friday, The Tashkent Files which explores the mystery behind the death of the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri released. The Tashkent Files is an attempt on the part of director Vivek Agnihotri to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of our former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri. 

The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Shweta Basu Prasad and Mandira Joshi. The Tashkent files released yesterday and managed to make the viewers curious enough to come to the theatres to watch the mystery. The Tashkent Files revolves around conspiracy theories surrounding the death of Lal Bahadur Shashtri. The actors can be seen taking the case seriously and are genuinely looking for answers. Though there was a lot of buzz that the film is politically motivated as it being released near to the General Elections 2019. But, that didn’t stop the makers from releasing the film. 

Talking about the box office collection, The Taskent Files started on a poor note and earned about Rs 35 lakhs nett on opening day. The film’s trailer surely gave everyone a glimpse into how the team under Mithun Chakraborty starts delving into the circumstances surrounding Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death. The other film that released this weekend is Hollywood’s Hellboy which is also making a lot of money at the box office. It will be interesting to see how The Tashkent Files competes with Hellboy over the weekend.
