Zero First Week Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Khan's movie has not yet entered the 100 crore club
The Aanand L Rai raked in approx Rs.11.75 crore on Christmas holiday, but the collection of the film has been going down thereafter.
Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer which has been receiving a lukewarm response from the audiences has slowed down further at the box office collection. As per the report of Box Office India, the movie on day 7 has just collected Rs. 3.75 crore, and the first week collection stands at Rs 84 crore. Yes, it has not yet entered the 100 crore club. The movie's opening numbers were good, but during the weekends, it didn't pick up at all. "The first-week number would be good for most films but is poor for such a big film," the BOI report stated.
The Aanand L Rai raked in approx Rs.11.75 crore on Christmas holiday, but the collection of the film has been going down thereafter. The movie has been getting stiff competition from KGF and now, it will face more competition from Rohit Shetty's movie Simmba as well which released yesterday. The cop drama which features Ranveer Singh in the lead received good opening and reviews from both critics and masses. As the movie has taken over most of the screens across the country, it is difficult for Zero to mint further money at the box office. From the numbers, it seems that Zero is the lowest grossing film to release during the Christmas holiday in the last few years.
When asked trade analyst Girish Johar to comment on the Zero failing to make it to 100 crore club and how the movie's chances are slim now that Simmba has released, to which he said, "Zero has collected approximately 80 crores in the first week and the movie didn't do well on the second Friday as well for obvious reasons.Simmba has taken a major initial opening and KGF is also eating up the viewers. So it is clear that the content is not appreciated. There is a slim chance of the movie to cross 100 crores now unless some magic happens today, tomorrow or on first (there is a holiday on first). Despite that, there is a slim chance now." Will it reach the 100 crore mark? Only time will tell.
