Thrilled & Happy to have Won National Award for Bajirao Mastani - Remo D'Souza
Choreographer Remo D'Souza is a happy man. After toiling hard for years, the choreographer turned director has won his first National Award today for his stunning choreography in Bajirao Mastani.
Ask Remo if he was expecting a National Award and he says, "Frankly speaking, I was expecting an award. All these years, I have always prayed to at least get nominated. But this year I really worked very hard and I was nominated for two films - ABCD 2 and Bajirao Mastani and I was hoping to win for either of them."
He continues in the same ecstatic tone, "Now that I have won, I am thrilled and happy. I would be calling up Sanjay Leela Bhansali now because I just came to know and I haven't spoken to him yet. He has also won the Best Director."
Given that he has won the award despite speculations that SLB wasn't happy with his work when he was choreographing the songs, this one surely comes as a validation.
"I definitely feel it is a validation. When we started working, I don't know why people started talking like this. It was great working with Bhansali and he loved my choreography. Our chemistry was really good," admits Remo.
With Bhansali winning National Award for Best Director and Priyanka Chopra's Padma Shri conferred today, we wonder if a Bajirao Mastani reunion cum celebration planned anytime soon.
"Absolutely we will celebrate. It calls for a big party with all three of us winning big," reveals Remo.
Meanwhile, the last schedule of Flying Jatt is going on-floors in Chandigarh and Remo along with his team will be flying to the destination tomorrow. Given that this good news has come in today, a big fat party will also be happening on the sets of Flying Jatt! What say?!
