Abhishek Bachchan is bracing himself for a busy day as he has a line up of media interactions scheduled at his Juhu office, for his comic caper Housefull 3, which has hit the screens today. While I wait for him to arrive, he walks into the room, dressed in a white pathani suit with an off-white shawl wrapped around his neck. He greets me with a warm hug, followed by a 'hello' and settles down for the interview. 'Do you need something? Tea or Coffee?' he asks me. When I say 'No, Thank You', he smiles and says 'Let's do this'. In a candid chat, Abhishek talks about Housefull 3, his equation with Akshay and Riteish, his love for Sports films and more. Read on...

You once said that when you signed HF3, your nephew Agstya was very excited about it. Is it more of a responsibility on you?

I hope so. You guys will decide. It has been a lot of fun and it is a wonderful team effort. My nephew Agastya is a huge fan of the franchise. I showed him the promos which he has loved it. It is a huge franchise and possibly the biggest comedy franchise in the country with a massive fan base. So you don't want to let them down and come in part 3 and ruin the whole thing. So that is the pressure.

Your sense of humour is very sharp and subtle. How did you manage to pull off the slapstick comedy in this one?

You know what happens is that when you are doing the film, you have set aside who you are in reality and be the character. And you have to do the demands of the character. Housefull is situational and slapstick comedy, which you should do only when you are convinced. It doesn't matter what kind of a person I am in real life.

Akshay and Riteish share great camaraderie with you. What was it like getting back with them on a film set?

It was great fun. It was like riding a bike. This is my second film with Akshay, although the first movie I did with him, we didn't have much work together. In a movie like Housefull, we genuinely had blast shooting it and our camaraderie showed on-screen.

How was it working with Nargis who also has a great sense of humour?

Nargis is great. She is wonderful looking with a clean heart. I have known her for good 3-4 years. I find her very entertaining. When Nargis is around, there is never a dull moment. She fit in perfectly well with the madcaps in the cast. Not just Nargis, but even Lisa and Jacqueline are fun. They are sporting and they understood the fabric of the movie. Even as ladies, they didn't take themselves seriously. They have done a great job.

Nargis and Lisa told us that Akshay and you played lot of pranks on the set...

Really? No.. they are lying (laughs). Nobody really plays pranks. Yeah we have fun and we kept the atmosphere on the set happy.

Whenever you have done comedy, you have excelled in them. Can we say this is your genre?'

No, I would prefer whatever genre I do, I can make that my own. I find comedy very difficult and it is lot of hardwork. I don't think it would be right to say that comedy is my genre but I have to work hard on it.

Aaradhya does the Tung Lak step nicely. Has she picked up any of your signature step from HF3?

No. She has been obsessed with Tung Lak currently. She loves doing it (smiles).

What's next after Housefull 3?

I don't know. It is a bit scary. It is the first time in my career that I don't know... So we have got 2-3 scripts that we are trying to work on. Just want to do the right one next. It is also time to move on from comedy. My last 2-3 films have been comedy which I have enjoyed doing thoroughly. But not I am ready to explore something different. I would love to revisit comedy, but for now want to do something different. Just working on tweaking a script to get it right. Have to make something special, something in which I can sink my teeth into.

What is the status of Hera Pheri 3?

I am sadly not going to be doing Hera Pheri 3.

There were reports of Bluffmaster 2 as well. Any update on it?

I don't think, and I say this with a very heavy heart, that Rohan will ever make Bluffmaster 2. Riteish and I keep teasing him about it but he has got a point. There are certain films which you just need to leave. Every film cannot be made into a franchise. Yes, we have discussed to get the whole team of Bluffmaster together to do a different movie and we are trying to work out something. But it is way too prematureto talk about it. However, I don't think there will ever be a Bluffmaster sequel.

You have put your heart and soul into sports. Any plans to produce a film on sports?

You know I would love to. It is one of my favourite genres to watch. If you ever need some motivation, then you should watch sports film. I feel the triumph of human spirit can never go wrong. But the thing we have to understand is, a sport film isn't about the sport. It has to be the backdrop. If you see Lagaan, it isn't about Cricket. It is about a village trying to avoid tax. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag isn't about Milkha Singh ji as a runner. It is his personal journey. There has to be a human angle to it. I would LOVE to make a sports film because it is a wonderful genre which we haven't really exploited in India and if made correctly, it will be amazing.

Yuvraj Singh biopic is something you desire to act in. Has anyone approached you with a script?

No. I have never discussed it with Yuvraj as well because whenever we have met, it has been at the social gatherings. I am always happy to meet him. He is such a positive guy. So when you meet him, you don't want to discuss 'Aye Yuvi, I want to make a film on you'. But I wish him all the best and I am a big fan of his cricket.
