The gorgeous Disha Patani is all set to embark on her Bollywood journey with the much-awaited biopic, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. She will be essaying the role of Mahi's GF in the film. Disha rose to fame with her popular single with alleged beau Tiger Shroff - Befikra. In a candid chat with Pinkvilla.com, Disha shared about her experience of working in the already-in-pipeline Hollywood project opposite Jackie Chan and much more. Excerpts from the interview:

For your debut, why did you agree to do the role of Dhoni's girlfriend (Priyanka Jha) instead of a full-fledged lead role in some other film?

It doesn't matter to me, the length of a role. It's the quality of work what I am looking for. I saw MS Dhoni: The Untold Story as my launch film as I was convinced that this will be able to get 'that' performance out of me. I followed my heart and instincts and I knew this role would be perfect for my debut.

Did Dhoni speak to you about this aspect (his ex-GF) of his life, which is not much-publicised?

Let me tell you, I have never met Dhoni! Neeraj Pandey (director) spoke to Mahi and he is the one who has written the story. I trusted Neeraj and he gave me the character sketch, which I worked on. Of course, I had many silly questions to ask Neeraj but I followed his instructions and added a pinch of my interpretation to this role.

How are you feeling ahead of the release of the film?

Right now, I am just feeling blank and eagerly waiting to see people's reaction on 30th September. I am happy for whatever love I am getting right now. Fingers crossed!

People are appreciating your chemistry with Sushant Singh Rajput (in song Kaun Tujhe). How was your experience of working with SSR?

Sushant is a very hard working guy. You will get to see this when you will watch the film. He is really inspiring, humble and friendly. Never ever I felt that this was my first film. He never tried to tell me what to do, rather he is the kind who will give you the space to be yourself and explore your character. Also, he is such an amazing actor - the kind of reactions you get from him makes it easier for the other actor. It really helped me, and yes, I did learn a lot from him!

People move to Hollywood from Bollywood, but technically, your debut has been opposite Jackie Chan's Kungfu Yoga. How was this experience -  at such an early stage in your career?

I am so happy for the fact that I worked with Jackie Sir and learned so much from him. I have been his die-hard fan since my childhood days, especially all his action-packed films. I personally love action genre and with this film I was able to explore that side because you don't get to do much action in Bollywood films. Somethings are meant to be and this entire experience will be cherished by me throughout my life. Jackie Sir is such a wonderful human being, and at the same time, he loves making people around him happy. Every day he used to come with cookies and chocolates; he was the Santa Claus on sets!

What was the most cherished gift you received from Jackie Chan?

He gave me a handwritten letter and one of his autobiographies, with a personal note. I have been ladened by gifts from his end. He really takes good care of all his artists and co-stars.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story will release on September 30, 2016.
