EXCLUSIVE: I liked Alia's original casting of Shraddha and Parineeti in DCH, Will stick to it - Farhan Akhtar
It has been a while since the makers of Dil Chahta Hai are toying around with the idea of making a sequel. While DCH, that released in 2001 was a film with all male protagonists, the demand for the remake is from the perspective of the girls.
Actress Alia Bhatt had expressed her interest in starring in the film and had said that she would want to share screen space with Shraddha Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the girls version of Dil Chahta Hai.
But, recently, the actress told us that she would want to star in the DCH remake with Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra.
When we asked Farhan about Alia's new suggestion, he said, "Oh, she changed the cast? I first heard this when someone asked Alia about it and she had said that she would want Farhan to make DCH 2 and he should take Shraddha, Parineeti and her in the film. I really liked that idea very much. I have been thinking about it very seriously which I did mention in the subsequent interviews. If the film has to have any kind of sequel to it, then it should be more about the feelings as opposed to the characters as I think that would be great. And I think it would be nice for it to be an all girl film. But, I liked her original casting and I will stick to it."
Well, we can't wait to see the new version of Dil Chahta Hai. And you?
